An even integer can only be the sum of 2 odd or 2 even integers.  An odd integer multiplied by another odd integer is still odd, while an odd integer multiplied by an even one becomes even.  A, B, C, and D are all odd because they are sums of one even and one odd integer.  Only choice E is correct because it is the sum of 2 odd integers.
