Solve this with the Pythagorean theorem, using only one of the right triangles to get half the length of AB:

a2 + b2 = c2
32 + b2 = 42
9 + b2 = 16
b2 = 7
b = square root of 7
Double the answer to get the total length of AB: 2 times square root 7.
