inevitably low wages for women. C was answered in line 48 with the
statement that women were viewed as casual workers without a future.
The answer to D, as is in the passage, is that women were not able to bring
in as much money for themselves. And E’s answer is that single women
did not have a man to bring in wages. A was not answered, and you
can sense that from the beginning because it is the only question listed
that does not deal specifically with women’s role in the economy as the
passage did. Instead, it’s a more sociological question.
